When MPOW become MPOF

The day today:

6:00 a.m. Hockey practice with the Wellesley club team
7:45 a.m. Shower, clean up at home
9:15 a.m. Arrive at work (Wellesley) (yes, I’m slow. Sue me.)
10:00 a.m. Meeting #1 cancels, devote time to catching up with Stuff
12:15 p.m. Head to lunch (tomato, avocado, and cheddar grilled cheese sandwich)
1:00 p.m. Start reference desk shift
5:55 p.m. Finish reference desk shift (which was supposed to end at 4:30)
6:10 p.m. Meet Amy at the campus center for grocery-store sushi dinner
6:30 p.m. Head to SLAM 3-on-3 basketball tournament (FUN- complete with D.J., on-campus teams, off-campus teams, a performance by Freestyle, the campus dance group, free pizza, and lots of opportunity to see students having fun)
9:15 p.m. Head to the on-campus pub with 2 other staff members for beers before the D.J. from the tournament arrives
10:30 p.m. Go home
11:15 p.m. Start NaBloPoMo blog post

The day, while long, was completely consumed with MPOW. But somewhere along the way (hockey, desk shift, dinner, tourney, pub) MPOW became MPOF(un). Weird – I’ve been here 10 months and this is one of the first times I’ve done some really truly social things on campus. It was really wonderfully fun to see the students having such a good time being social. Since I’m usually only on-campus during non-socializing hours, I can only assume they they have fun. Tonight, I saw it. Excellent!

This weekend looks good – hockey tomorrow evening, work Sunday afternoon, and lots of football in-between. No arguments here.

  1. i have no idea what the M and the P stand for. am so glad you have been converted to grilledcheeseism (yes, it’s a minor religion)… and that wellesley is showing you good times. i wasn’t a sporty one, myself — still am not — but i know that there was some amazing team/sport bonding on campus. and yay for librarians who socialize!! 🙂
